It's been a busy spring and start to the summer, but Dad and I finally found a break in the action and gave our longtime friend Marcel Veenstra (Marcels Guide Service) a call.
We hit the water on Lake St. Clair and had one of those days you'll remember forever. We boated 50 smallmouth bass, with the biggest tipping the scales at 5.05 pounds.
We're incredibly fortunate to spend time on the water with guys like Marcel. His knowledge of Lake St. Clair is truly hard to explain. From locating fish to understanding their behavior, bait selection, and presentation, he operates on a completely different level.
Days like this are what it's all about. Great fishing, great company, and making memories with lifelong friends.
Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom.
Their sacrifice is the reason we get to enjoy the outdoors, gather with family, and live in the greatest country in the world.
